Take a Chance on Me, Benny
This was an idea that was conceived by Peter Megler and I during our internship at Le Bureau in Stockholm.
The challenge was to lure Benny Andersson of Abba to the Wetterlling Gallery in Stockholm where the owner hoped to sell him a piece of art from a new exhibit featuring Jim Dine. Benny had been a former client who hadn’t visited the gallery in a while and Mr. Wetterling needed to do something to get his attention.
Our solution was to send Benny a personal invitation to the gallery in the form of a coffin which had its front designed by a young, local artist. The hook was that if people like Benny stopped supporting the arts, that struggling artists would die.

Random Find
Cleaning out one of my external HDs today and found this guy. It was for a student project for UPS . The video was fun to make but we changed our concept the next day and the video got lost amongst other files…. UNTIL NOW.

Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands. Being an intern can be very demanding sometimes.
Never Send a Monkey to do an Ape’s Job.
Apegroup stopped by Saatchi today for a brief lecture on mobile technology, mainly IPhone applications. What he said seems like common sense but these things seem to stick more when someone else says it.
- SIMPLE, do not try to regurgitate a brand’s website into an application, that is what safari app is for.
- Integrating your advertising message where it is relevant, make people say ” .. they are only trying to help me, this is not advertising”
- Enhance/Improve their lifestyle in one way or another.
It was extremely relevant to have Apegroup stop by since a lot of the briefs that we have been working on are interactive based and a lot of clients are itching to have a IPhone app of their own. Recently for a DHL brief my STHLM partner, Peter Megler and I came up with a way for DHL users to take their business mobile with this IPhone application that uses the touch screen technoloy.
Online as it happens.
So, instead of having to visit your favourite blog to see if someone is mentioning your name, you can have e.g. a cymbal-clapping monkey alert you when it actually happens. It’s that easy. You choose your RSS-feed, what it is you want your widget to do and search for, and then decide how you would like it all to be visualised. You can measure occurrence, display what the hottest topic is, compare 2 different things against each other, and much much more. Once you have created a widget you can take it with you from the site. Embed it on your own site or blog, or access it directly with a unique URL to your widget. The best thing about being online as it happens is that you get to choose what it is that matters most to you.
